The Power Is Within Your Thinking

“Geniuses are not different people, but they do things differently.”

Success is 15% skills and 85% attitude. Success begins with a person’s attitude. A man was once given a magic wand and asked what he would like to change. He said the attitude of people.

Example –

A father gave sweets, cards and flowers to his son with negative attitude and threw horse dung in the house of his other son with positive attitude. The negative thinker said, “After eating sweets my stomach gets upset, I am allergic to the smell of flowers and what is the need to waste money on cards.”

On the other hand, the positive thinker said, “Since horse dung is here in my house it means there must be a horse somewhere around.”

A positive thinker always looks at the brighter side of things.

Life’s battles don’t always go to the stronger or faster man, but sooner or later the man who wins is the one who thinks he can!

You become what you intensely believe. You can never be bigger or better or more successful than you believe you can.

Ultimately you have the power to decide what you believe about yourselves. Don’t allow people to impose limitation on what you can do or whom you become. For instance the example of bumble bee,

Biologists have determined that, aerodynamically speaking, the bumble bee cannot fly; it has too large a body mass to be supported by such puny wings. The bumble bee fortunately does not listen to such criticism.

REMEMBER- People rise no higher than their expectation level. Expect little, receive little, expect to fly and who knows where your next flower might be.

Principle of believing is like dialing a telephone number, you get what you dial. If you dial the wrong number- fear, anxiety, lack of confidence you will get that. If you dial success, confidence, happiness you will get that.

If you are not accomplishing what you should, it is because you do not usually think in your heart you can do it. You do not intensely believe you can do it.

Man is 98% mental and only 2% physical. Our brain conveys our thoughts and beliefs to our body. If you think you can succeed, your brain tells your body to get ready and expect success. If you think I will fail, the brain tells the body do not ever try, there is no chance of success.

If you keep telling yourself- I am tired, I can’t do it and you will not be able to do it.

The power is within your thinking. What you think you achieve. If you think greatness, you achieve greatness.

PEOPLE WITH A POSITIVE ATTITUDE ARE CARING, CONFIDENT, PATIENT, HUMBLE, PLEASING AND FRIENDLY AND THEY ALWAYS ANTICIPATE POSITIVE OUTCOMES.

STEPS TO BUILD A POSITIVE ATTITUDE- 

  1. Change the focus, look towards the positive:-

    We have to become a good finder and need to focus on the positives in life. Let’s start looking for what is right in a person or situation, instead of looking for what is wrong. Because of our conditioning we are always finding faults and forget to see the positive picture.

    Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
    Some people always look for the negative. With a negative frame of mind, we can never succeed in life.
    Question: – Why do we have negative feelings?
    Answer: – Negative feelings come easily while positive feelings have to be fed. Grass grows easily, flowers are difficult to grow.
  2. Make a habit of doing it now: –

    Procrastination leads to a negative attitude. Procrastination fatigues you more than the required efforts would, for the work done immediately.
    A completed task is fulfilling and energizing and an incomplete task draws away energy like a leak in a tank. If you want to build and maintain a positive attitude, get into a habit of living in the present and doing all the work immediately.

  3. Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind, a mental picture of yourself as successful: –

    Hold this picture tenaciously, never permit it to fade. With time, your mind will seek to develop this picture. Never think yourself as failing, never doubt the reality of the mental image, for the mind tries to complete what it pictures. So always picture success, no matter how badly things seem to be going at the moment.


    Deposit only positive thoughts in your memory bank. We encounter plenty of unpleasant, embarrassing and discouraging situations in our mind. Successful people never think of unpleasant situations.

    Which kind of performance would your car give if you put a handful of dirt on the crankshaft every day? Negative thoughts produce needless fear and worry. Hence, withdraw only positive thoughts from your memory bank.

    Some people procrastinate behind big words, “I am analyzing” and six months later, they are still analyzing. Let us make the best of now.

Our Mentor says,Yesterday is like a cancelled cheque, tomorrow is like a promissory note but today is like cash money, which you can spend very wisely.”

  1. Develop an Attitude of Gratitude:-
    Count your blessings not your troubles. A man lost everything in business, he was feeling that nothing was left with him, so he went to his Mentor who advised him to count his blessings.

    After discussing, he realized that he had a beautiful wife, sweet children, home, good health and many more things he can be grateful for. When we are in the attitude of Gratitude, we never experience lack of anything. Moreover, the Universe always fulfills the desires of such people.

    So, we should always count our blessings and be in the attitude of gratitude for whatever God has given us.
