WHO IS A LEADER?
A leader is not just a person who is supposed to stand in front and monitor a big group; rather A LEADER is someone whose aim is to ABSORB, LEARN AND ACT. He is always ready to serve and has the capability to lead and take forward a mission.
A LEADER himself is a good follower and is obsessed, motivated and transformed by his ideal. For example- Dada Bhagwan ji, Geeta Bhagwan ji, Uma Bhagwan ji, Our Guru Bhagwan ji , Our Guru Maa ji, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Rama Tirtha, Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Einstein, Newton; all of them were great leaders in their specific fields and were themselves good followers.
A LEADER never forces people to follow him because he knows that it will make them more obstinate in their views. CONVICTION is what matters. A true leader nurtures a group which shares the same ideas. He doesn’t speak for himself but for the one who sent him; be it GOD or his ideal.
Generally, people think that a strong, young man waving a big banner with a slogan written and followed by a big crowd is a leader, BUT A LEADER IS THE ONE WHO LEADS FROM WITHIN. Today, people do not like to be pulled along with the crowd, holding the ends of a flying banner; they do not like to walk sheepishly towards something they hardly understand. Such following is bound to be disastrous one day. A true leader will stay among his followers, working for them and among them to cheer them up and to inspire them with hope and faith. One who leads from within respects the intelligence and will of his followers.
WHAT ARE THE QUALITIES OF A TRUE LEADER
- Integrity
- Flexibility
- Learning attitude
- Conviction and
- Co-operation
- Solution-oriented mind
These qualities in a leader helps him to overcome any kind of adversity. But one must be aware of that usual mistake which weak leaders often commit- namely PERSONALITY CULT. They allow their personality to influence others so much that they have plenty of followers who admire their personality but very few who follow their ideas.
To become a leader we need to practice following qualities in daily life –
- Begin with praise and honest appreciation.
- If you have to call attention to people’s mistake do it indirectly.
- Talk about your own mistakes first, before criticizing the other person. (This should be done only when this is very necessary.)
- Ask questions instead of giving direct answers to
- Let the other person save face. (Don’t point out others mistakes directly.)
- Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be hearty in your approbation (approval, consent) and lavish in your praise.
- Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct.
- Make the person feel happy about doing the things. (You suggested, but now let him feel it was his decision.)
Keeping all these things in mind we all can prove to be great leaders in our respective fields because WE, THE YOUTH AROUND THE GLOBE, have the potential to lead the world.
It has given thought to improve . Great leaders in any field
